Pete's Subs & Burgers - Peterborough

Great meal value price. Great homemade burger fries and Hotdog. Ridiculously cheap any complaints about this little gem. Well stay home fool. $4.35 cheeseburger come one clean little dinner off the main drag very cool great staff thank you very much. We'll check you out for breakfast soon.Cheers

Despite the negative reviews I thought I'd pop in and have a quick burger....knowing they were cheap.......and I ordered their home made burger with cheese, and it was a pleasant surprise. Had options of onions, hot peppers, and the usual to put on it. The meat tasted real rather than like those pre-made patties. The service was very friendly. And even though some talk about the street people that are often in that area, I found that the clientele were all pleasant, seemed to know each other (and the staff seemed to know them.....asking one if he wanted the 'regular' or something different), and there was a relaxed and convivial mood throughout. I'll come back sometime; I want to try their soup, and maybe even a sub. They also serve breakfast all day.

This is a cheap diner. It doesn't pretend to be anything else. Given that it's cheap and that you should expect the quality to reflect the price point, a reasonable expectation of Pete's is that it will be basic, greasy fare. Which it is. But it's honest and it's flawlessly executed. As a chef I deeply appreciate places like Pete's who do what they can with the ingredients that they know and that they can afford. The cooks at Pete's do what they do well and for the price, you really can't complain.

Just beware of the prices when you get something from thisgreasy spoon. You can tell they get the lowest grade of patties and food sources there. The server wash hands after handing cash and cooking and seen some shady characters hanging around there too. We never ate the fries and hamburger as was too greasy and had a weird smell.
