La Sirenetta - PESCARA

As a single black woman who grew up in pescara and finished my education in pescara I am quite shocked at the level of service given to me at the restaurant LA SIRENETTA. In pescara which is a restaurant facing the beach usually called a STABILIMENTO I kept dining there cause I liked the food not gonna lie. The Waiter who served me ,whom i believe was in his late 60s made me feel unwanted, I believe that the fact that he was serving a woman sat on her own, a black woman for that matter gave him an inferiorty complex. When I asked him for items such as cheese and the bill he did not even let me finish my sentence and just walked away. The owner of the restaurant who looked frustrated and Bare in mind there are 3 owners the father the son and the wife. Anyway day six of me dining at the sirenetta I am served by the son in person. being a black beautiful woman in pescarA is a sensation,I’m like an alien, when a gentleman across the table started talking to me he quickly came over whispered something to him and pretended he wasn’t talking about me. When he left the gentleman across me said to me don’t worry pescara is a small province and people are close minded. I felt radically attacked and in my opinion Italians in pescara are not welcoming of black people. Very disappointed is to say the least.

Everything was great! service, food which was served quickly and the staff was super kind, helpful, I was there 2 times during my short trip

We dined on a Friday early around 730pm was not very busy. Seafood was amazing. All very fresh and decently priced.

We arrived to La Sirenetta by chance trying to find a place to eat in Pescara late evening and were not disappointed. The restaurant was about to be closed but they kindly let us come in and made such a great pasta for us with seafood it was fantastic. Local wine was better than I could imagine. The gentleman serving us was polite and friendly. We could enjoy our late dinner with no hurry thanks to the patience and hospitality of the staff. We will surely come back again to taste desserts.

It is not difficult to remind yourself how a restaurant will be when you have had over year to taste their dishes. There again no exception, 5 stars. 5 stars on service, 5 stars on meals, 5 stars on location, and certainly 5 stars on ambiance. I will not boast so much it becomes a nuisance, but will try to show the entire week, that's right, every night dinner here. The wine just stick to the local abruzzo favourite pecorino. Antipasti anything you choose will be perfect. Mains just have a look. You cannot go wrong here. Price can be as you wish. If you splash out it will be a memory. The desert, I like sorbetto, aurum, a coffee. I feel satisfied. It is an Italian restaurant and it is authentic. If you have any questions just message me. See everyone next time. Bon apetit
