The Cross Keys Inn - Penrith

The menu we were given was on a piece of paper and the print had run out at the bottom of it so we could not read everything. the prices were very expensive and not much choice. the service was terrible, the waitress was useless and very slow. eating was very nice and can't blame the cook. I felt abandoned by the waitress.

Meals were disappointing, the 2 roasts ordered were lukewarm and after being reheated came back warm. 1 meal was forgotten by the kitchen or waitress. I’d finished my meal by the time the last meal was delivered. We’d been finished for ages before our plates were cleared. We could hear the staff laughing loudly and swearing down the stairs. Overall pretty average

I had roast beef which was good the other 3 had burgers they said they were good Downside was the service,quite slow,we ordered 2 puddings 1 hot 1 cold which took over 40 mins to arrive with no apology,it's off putting to see staff sat eating near the bar area and on their mobile phones

Food was good. Service was okay but extremely understaffed so the wait time was way to long. We were there nearly 2 hours and only had a main. Didn’t have time to wait for a pudding as took 20 mins to get a menu for it so we paid our bill and left without having one.

Staff not organised, to noisy, ran out off 2xbeers.will not be back
