Bluegrass Bbq - Pembroke

We stopped to grab a bite to eat before we went to our final destination and I?m glad we stopped!! The ambience of the restaurant was very friendly and it definately had the feel of the ?Mom Pop? establishment. Our waitress, Terri, was absolutely amazing! She?s very kind and took the time to explain the difference between the platters. The BBQ was very tender and flavorful! Mac Cheese was perfect as was the collard greens! I had a hush puppy and it reminded me of the hush puppies my mom used to make. I can say that no one goes away feeling hungry! I definitely recommend this place!!

We had bbq pork and sausage combo. Came with the best fries and two sides. Husband had hush puppies and coleslaw. The hush puppies were larger than a golf ball and the best I've ever had. I had the fried catfish, hush puppies and coleslaw. The catfish was not greasy, very light and flavorful. This is by far one of the best meals we have had out. The drive there is beautiful and quiet. We will return!

You're going to want to bring some home with you guaranteed. I spent the weekend down in Pembroke from Fredericksburg and brought back 90% of the food that I purchase from bluegrass. Their staff is friendly and their portions are humongous. If you want a nice warm delicious snack I highly recommend the hush puppies. The owners and chefs came out to say hello and the wait staff was exceptional. Anytime I head down there I plan on returning to Bluegrass! You should do the same.

My husband and I like to try to find little holes in the wall bbq and this gem was easily the best bbq we?ve ever had! Let me just say it was the highlight of our vacation in Virginia and worth the 9 hr of driving we did that day. Seriously good food! The pulled pork as well as ribs was a hit and I was surprised how delicious the chicken turned out to be- not kidding but that?s the best chicken I?ve ever had. Reasonably priced, cute little place, with kind friendly staff. What more could you ask for? Oh also, we tried the frog legs for fun and I really enjoyed them as well. My husband said a couple of times those beans were the best he ever had without exaggeration and I would have to agree.

Amazing food, affordable prices, lots meat on pork ribs. Beans were best and service was excellent. Highly recommend.
