Sweet and cozy little ACTUAL Mexican taqueira, not the standard Tex-Mex. I had one taco carnitas, very tasty. Then I ordered a Mexican shrimp cocktail, and it was delicious, spicy but not overwhelming, with generous amounts of shrimp and avocado. Large menu, choices for everyone. Highly recommended. What Frieda Durgan doesn't like about Brito's Restaurant Bar:
The food was very bland. My meal was $12.99, my husband's meal was, 7.99, and my child's meal was $6.99 so I don't know how our bill came out to $46. Our waitress only spoke Spanish and said she didn't understand what we were saying when we asked why it was so much because our ticket only had the total and not what was charged per item. Waiting was long ago. There were only 3 people in our group who ordered the same plate. The restaurant was nasty, the food was evil and the waiters where rude. It won't go back.
Delicious authentic Mexican food. Fun atmosphere. Appropriate prices. Good service. Probably the second best authentic Mexican food in Pelham that says something.
REVIEW UPDATE STILL GOOD.... but they are not sweet of Gringos. This is close to my office and I WAS go quite regularly until my order started wrong, late, etc. The LAST time was with two other people. It was about 6p, not overcrowded - but the food took a bit too long, then ONE speakers right behind me started Mexican tuba / accordion / crying caballero music so loud it did hurt... So I have the point, and I don't know how to antagonize people who cook for me. I hope that's not the future of America. So....original post. This is the real deal for Mexican Casual/Street food. Sauces are good, Tacos are exemplary. Quality and presentation can differ from one visit to the next, but it is never 'bad'. It's not Tex/Mex. Cheese are different, radishes and cucumbers accompany tacos. Lettuce is hard to come, onion and complex sauces are not. English is a second language here, and you 'll see some items on tables that you 't see on the menu. If it looks good, ask for one or two!
The horchata was very good, the asada sope was delicious, the pastor tacos were very good a little sharp, the micheladas looked very good, friendly service, they have parking.
