We enjoyed a lovely lunch on a festive Sunday in January. The restaurant offers a great selection for vegetarians and vegans, including a dedicated vegan menu. I had a delicious spicy roasted cauliflower dish. The staff was very friendly, and the location is beautiful, perched on the cliffs with views of the Sleieve Canal. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Smuggler's Rest:
We ordered a tagliatelle and it was quite dry, as if it had been hastily prepared, resembling a dish someone might make after coming home from work with no time to cook properly. They did offer to exchange it for free, but it was definitely not up to standard. If the chef's boss had seen it, I think there would have been some serious consequences. View all feedback.
Beautiful cliff top location with ample parking space. the personal was friendly, eating was from the usual high quality they expect from the vintage ins. the most important are good inexpensive, but desserts are a little expensive, but they are delicious. great view from the covered beer garden, although we chose to eat. very recommended, unfortunately we could not return for a second meal, as the police had closed the road because of an infall. the restaurant was an understanding due to the situation when we had to break off.
Magnificent view over the sea while they eat. what could they ask for? good eating, good friendly staff, excellent service, many free parking places gave and some sunshine voila add a fantastic pub stop with some beautiful surprises. the menu was very reasonable and the pudding was very elegant, almost heston blumenthal style to be honest, so look at the photos and spikels. that was a good sound and we will. come back with friends and try to do the walk along the cliffs to earn our food even more next time. this time we have just finished a long walk near seaford and a fantastic day out on another south coaster beach when we decided to follow google along the coast route in direction brighton to see if we could find a put with a beautiful view of the sea. we were not disappointed because this is a beautiful discovery. so good that they sometimes ask themselves to keep it to themselves as it was busy and fully booked after we arrived and nabbed one of the last tabs. I just wish we had lived closer, because that was my normal drinking hole.
Great service and delicious food. I asked for a wheelchair-friendly area near the open fire. they did the fire at the arrival. beautiful and cozy. enjoyable by all.
Wonderful place, new to us but a beautiful location and lovely staff. Meals are a little pricey, but we are used to budget places. The food was absolutely worth it though, we ate every last morsel!
Fabulous pub. nice selection of drinks, including local (sussex) beer. good food. reasonable prices. cheerful accommodating staff. dog friendly. perfect location for watching the sunset.
