Contribute Feedback What Amya Grady doesn't like about Tori Ichi Yakitori & Bar:
We tried their Salmon roe gunkan sushi, Tonkotsu ramen, Curry yakisoba and of course their skewers (Chicken & Scallions, Pork Belly and Beef). Some of the dishes were ok but nothing really stood out for me in a good way. I don't recommend the yakisoba. Serving size is too small for its price despite being told it's good for sharing. The restaurant itself and the ambiance is nice. We were given hot towels and they were unfortunately smelly. At this time I felt worried about how clean the resto is. We ordered the Tomodachi set of 10 skewers. I found it strange that the menu didn't have a list of what they were but we still ordered thinking that they're all the usual yakitori staples. Most of the sticks were pretty average and I feel that other yakitori restaurants have better tasting meats. The beef and pork doesn't have spectacular flavor. The tsukune's meat is heavily mashed. The consistency and taste is different from every other tsukune I've tasted, that it felt I was eating processed food. The corn was undercooked. The only good ones were the bacon sticks. I also ordered egg over rice and the egg was overcooked and impossible to mix with the rice. The whole experience just felt so underwhelming, as if no care was given towards the food. It's hard to believe this is a franchise from Kyoto. Homegrown yakitori restos cook their meats better.
