What Norby Krenik doesn't like about Sweet Shansations:
What a complete waste of time I was. I asked a question about a bakery product they don’t have and it was clear I was an inconvenience. Won’t make that mistake again. Good luck with that View all feedback.

The cream puffs were really good, perfect level of sweetness and good texture and mouth feel. The Japanese Cheesecake was a bit of a letdown. They guy at the store highly recommended it but it was a fail overall. Barely sweetened and tasted quite bland. The Taro cake was pretty decent but really needed a bit more taro flavoring to really make it pop and be more bold.I'd consider coming back and trying more things and see if there other things here that catches my palette like those cream puffs. I recommend those.
Really good price for the bubble tea compared with nearby Wayne. Flavor was food for the price. And reasonable pastries too.
The matcha cake roll was a delightful swirl of softness and green tea flavor. I like it!
Sweet Shansations is my favorite bakery ever. It earns the coveted “not TOO sweet” award for balancing technique with flavor without the sickly sweet sugar explosion common with other bakeries. I’m not sure what magic they use but I’m addicting to the red bean pastries and Nutella buns.If you buy them all out and I can’t have any, I will cry.
Granted, I've only been here once, but right now I'm wavering on a lot for this review. I absolutely love Shan Shan Noodles so I had high hopes for their dessert place, and maybe I oversold myself on that. First of all, don't touch! I was poking the plastic wrapped pastries to see what was soft, turning them over to see what ingredients, and was told to use the tongs. Really, I need tongs for an already wrapped pastry? But I don't want to intrude on their cleanliness, so I include this here as a note that you will need to mind the same! (It's a very clean looking place. It fits the vibe.)More than the prompt if abrupt conversation, the food hasn't convinced me yet. The storekeep vouched it's all made there, and I buy it. Chinese desserts are not intended to be as sweet as Western, and that is definitely the case here. The sweetest was the one I got as a non dessert! The shredded pork cream roll, the cream really made it sweet, overtaking the salty shredded meat on top (which is so cool to see). The red bean and black sesame rolls were hard to place as dessert vs. appetizer, and I acknowledge that's just me. The date squares were interesting but a little less than I hoped a little too puffy, a piece of date or two inside but it should be many pieces or no pieces IMO to avoid setting expectations. Plus one bite had a really weird bitter taste for some reason. This review could go up or down. Next time I Shan Shan, I will Sweet Shan along with it and pick up some more items to nail down my thoughts.
