First time dining here at pesto for a big 22 person birthday gathering and let me tell you, the wait staff and servers were top notch. Everything was delicious, food came out promptly and the dishes all looked so good. Attentive wait staff and very delightful food and quality. I cant wait to go back! View all feedback.
How this place is rated 4.5 stars has me totally confused.No pasta or wine served at an Italian restaurant? We were offered vodka instead??Bread and butter were the best part of the meal. Bread was warm and had a nice pull to it.Appetizer of fried zucchini (1/8 thick coins, battered and with no recognizable flavor), cauliflower (tasty), 2 overcooked shrimp and rubber hose calamari, served with a flavorless orange paste and a pesto olive oil.Entrees served over what tasted like instant mashed potatoes? Veal saltimbocca that had a 'jerky ' quality to it and chicken cachatorie, that seemed a large chicken finger, topped with a flavorless red sauce, which had a few strips of red pepper amd cannedushrooms? sauteed in.This was one of the worst meals of my life.AND I got to pay over $90 for it... Ugh.
Top shelf. Food, service, and the decor. If your in park ridge this will be your new spot. PROMISE!!
