My wife and I are food lovers and whenever we come to Paris we always find it difficult to choose where to have lunch or dinner as there are so many good restaurants to choose from. For my wife 's birthday we decide to try out Odette, and what a choice that was! Impeccable service, cozy atmosphere and the food was a proper delight! Never tasted such an incredible Beurre Blanc . What Ludger Schumann doesn't like about Odette L'Auberge Urbaine:
Perhaps the worst culinary experience I’ve ever had and that isn’t just during my time here in France. For the price, the service is terrible. But the disastrous service do’th hold no candle to the food. I find that I was charged €86 for the bush tucker trial that they called a meal nothing short of an insult. All I will say is, if you want better value for money, take it into the street and burn it. Thank heavens Ub... View all feedback.
First visit March 2019. Odette is very attractively designed with some unique design elements. Stopping in for a solo dinner at the bar, the welcome was warm and accommodating, which presaged consistently excellent service. The BTG wine program reflects careful consideration with several appealing options. Two tasty amuse were delivered in advance of a really outstanding butternut squash and kumquat ravioli appetizer. The Farmer's chicken main was perfectly cooked, not in the least bit dry, but under-seasoned and lacking the excitement and creative pairing of flavors that the ravioli delivered. A better showing on the entree would have made this an easy 5 star review. Recommended.
This restaurant is part of the Albar Celine hotel. It looked an average sort establishment initially but we were pleasantly surprised at the good standard of food and service. We went for a dinner on the first night of a short city break. The menu was relatively limited Jacqui had an aubergine tartlet to start and I had butternut squash and kumquat ravioli both were well cooked extremely flavourful and a delight to eat. For main course we shared monkfish which came with a good reduced sauce of fish stock/wine/butter/cream complementing the fish well. This was accompanied by some small potatoes and 2 styles of cabbage all with a very nice herby sauce. For dessert Jacqui had an indulgent chocolate mousse which was very intense and well presented. I opted for the classical Crepes Suzette the pancakes could have been lighter in all honesty but the orange sauce was spot on. Gin and Tonic aperitifs and white wine wine from Corsica which I had never tasted before) with the meal were all good and not too expensive. Service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant once full was a very pleasant environment plenty of space between tables, and overall a very positive experience. The cooking obviously has the influence of the Patron M Rostang who runs a 2 star establishment with his daughters elsewhere and the standard would not take much improvement to get to a star of its own. Good value compared to the Poule au Pot just around the corner with 1 star, which we visited the following night)
We enjoyed the breakfast in Odette, its good selection of quality food and the good service at the nice place.
