El Vaquero West (lake Monticello)

Hands down, the best food within 20 minutes from the lake. I've never been disappointed with everything I ordered here. Great, friendly staff and fantastic food keeps me back at least once a week.

Tonight. The food was okay. The service was less than par. I tried to order Appetizer three separate times waiter was gone when I started to speak. So much for starters. This sales went as fast as the waiter who went away from our table.

Quick, hot, friendly. Okay, so I own a food/baby in the area. Finally, there was a chance to try this place and on a THURSDAY it was PACKED. The menu was huge as expected. The decor was not bad, the stands are painted and carved, Kinda cute. But the lighting is the same as you would find in a Walgreen;s at 2nd BRIGHT. Too bad they don't have a dimmer switch. The service was really fast and really friendly. You did everything right. Mom (86 years old) had chicken fajitas that were delicious. The pages placed in the tortillas were friendly, but were OK. Guac: Good. Salsa: Average. Beans and cheese: delicious and not overloaded with cheese (as most of us Americans want). Her bf had chiles pablanos, who looked like we had ordered them from a mex restaurant in the desert of Nevada (this is a compliment). I had Nachos tejanos. Good meat, shrimp, vegetables. A meal, no app. We'll be back!

Love this place! Staff is attentive and friendly every time I go in. The food is always fresh and one of the best Mexican places I've eaten. I also like that they have a good sized kids menu. My 4 y.o. loves it too!

My 5year old daughter swears this should be a five star restaurant! Everybody is so nice! She made me post this lol
