Had a take-away from here on New Year's Eve. Chicken Biriani and Chicken Tikka Masala. Both were really good, the biriani was well spiced and particularly delicious. I will certainly return. View all feedback.
What Jane H doesn't like about Jamona:
I ordered takeout from this restaurant for the first time and was very disappointed. I ordered a variety of dishes, including meat samosas which were priced at 2 for £3.95. These samosas were the exact same frozen ones you can buy at Tesco for £4.50 for 20. These samosas were the exact same frozen ones you can buy at Tesco for £4.50 for 20. The chicken tikka masala was bright red and seemed like the chicken had been mixed with tomato ketchup, which also affected the taste. The dips were extremely overpriced at 85 pence each for a very small portion. My recommendation would be to steer clear of this place as it is not worth the money. You might as well throw your money down the drain.
Ordered a vegetable curry, onion bhajis and a chilli naan. All of these were, unfortunately, very bland, though the main issue was with the delivery in which I was informed by the delivery driver that they don't have any change, so with no option I had to pay £20 in cash than the £15.15 total. Overall very disappointing, and wouldn't order again.

I am a frequent customer and find that 90% of the time the food at this restaurant is excellent, comparable to any Indian restaurant I have been to. However, there have been occasions where the food was average, with issues such as being overly spicy but lacking in flavor. I would rate this place a 5 if not for these occasional disappointments. The staff are friendly and it is evident that they put in a lot of effort to provide good service.
There are a lot of Indian takeaways in Oxford and I have tried most of them over the years. But Jamona is the gold standard I always compare others too. So far none of the rest have matched up and I always return to Jamona. The food is just wonderful and the service is quick. I really can't recommend this place highly enough!
