What a gem of a place! The food is better than any top class Nepalese or Thai restaurants in Toronto. The Momo dumpling is tasty. The Pakoras are freshly made, not greasy at all. The portions are generous. The chef owner takes your request seriously and delivers just the right amount of spiciness. Her cooking is impeccable. The service is fantastically friendly. The food was good.....slow service and there were only 4 of us in the entire restaurant. The waitress was new and did not have a clue about anything...totally confused. Appetizer arrived...no cutlery or napkins..had to ask! My friends order was forgotten.....so it arrived 35 minutes after my meal arrived. The owner/cook laughed hysterically when the waitress told her that she forgot half our order.....no apology....VER... Amazing food. Taste really good! We ordered butter chicken, beef curry and lamb vindaloo. Everybody's delicious. If you really like spicy curry, you can even ask for hot sauce to adjust the spicy level. The waiter is very nice and his explanation is very clear. The best thing is: it has free Wi-Fi! In a word that is a really good restaurant you must try!
We stayed there on the way to Tobermory. We loved eating, especially daal tadka and biryani? all curries are gluten-free. Ambiance was welcome? I will definitely recommend this place.
The food here is so great, felt like house style cooking, but restaurant level. The Momos are so delicious, you can choose meat or vegan! Very comfortable culinary experience with a lot of culture.
We traveled on 3. January from Tobermory and found nothing open from Tobermory to Owen Sound. Finally after the call of most restaurants about Google that showed open) and found that none were open, we got Sabitri. A family-run restaurant that is passed on by an aunt that ran before) this bright and welcoming restaurant made our day even more wonderful. The host was gracious and attentive. When we were so hungry, we ordered a soup of Samosas and Momos. They were freshly prepared and delicious. The dal makhanani was vegan, which was such a refreshing change as it showed that they made fresh food on order and not made before. Regarding the Palak: Spinat Vegetation we wanted it to be vegan, so not a distributor, but the cook made it on my request, Lasooni Palak or Garlic Palak. That was super delicious and so fresh. Another feeling of eating such fresh food. A must to visit when Owen Sound passes. Vegan vegetarian options available. Great service and delicious food.
Food is great, a variety of dishes to choose from. They also have Nepalese dishes such as beef Momo's and others to choose from. Naan and roti were freshly done upon request. Host was attentive and diligent and ready with great recommendation if one can't decide. The restaurant was clean and tables were spaced apart. Covid passport is required upon entry. If you find yourself in Owen Sound I strongly recommend this restaurant, you'll not regret it
