I appreciate Old Mill Lodge very high. Her food was excellent, very present and the waitress was very friendly. I had a slight problem with something I found in my food that should not be part of my meal, but that was addressed by the manager with great apologies and told me he would talk to his kitchen staff, otherwise excellent service. He compensated me with a free desert. We're going to visit the area in the fina... View all feedback.
It was amazing! Being surrounded by nature and listening to the river through the night was absolute bliss. Breakfast is charged at R145 per person and is a breakfast buffet or if you do what we do and have booked with it a bonus. It's really good food with a fantastic view. We were in Tent 2, complete with a bathroom and shower, air conditioning, heating, additional ceilings and a deck overlooking the river and the cow field. There are outdoors, ponies and hiking trails for those who want to explore and you can do bass fishing. You have to do that! I wish we had booked a whole week.
Beautiful plot with fabulous old trees, good choice of accommodation, extremely family-friendly, but equally pleasant for couples, beautiful restaurant on the river with the historical mill wheel still in situ, very helpful management. We loved it.
Went to the restaurant and had the Ostrich Burger with Chedder cheese and caramelised onions, along with a small salad, potato wedges and caramelised pumpkin fritters. I have to say, with all the burgers that I have had, this has to be the best tasting one. Very good food :
Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly service and absolutely delicious food. You gave our day a very nice finish, thank you very much
Beautiful farm just outside of Oudtshoorn, basically at the base of the infamous Swartberg Mountain, with lots to do (fishing, ostriches, interacting with the rabbits, and walks around the facility). They have a lovely restaurant next to the river, and they are situated very close to the Cango Caves, Swartberg Mountain, Buffelsdrift Nature Reserve and Ostrich Farm.
