The Whalesbone Elgin Street - Ottawa

Amazing food, service, and cocktails! Oysters were fantastic (with a whiskey add for the final sip) and the chilled platter was excellent. So fun!

Excellent restaurant! We came a little later in the evening and immediately got a table. At normal times you should probably reserve a table. Very nice ambiance and a very appealing selection of dishes. I had one of the best burgers I've ever had! But also the selection of fish dishes is very good and especially to mention are the steaks!!! You can admire the delicacies in their own Dry age room! We will definitely stop by again next time we visit Ottawa!

Had a really good time at the Whale's Bone on a Sunday for dinner! Our table had both the hot and cold seafood platters, oysters on the half shell, calamari, beef tartare and the cod entree. Everything was done to perfection and was fresh tasting!My husband noted that the piece of cod was a bit on the small side however.The service was amazing, we did have a reservation, so no wait for our table.Our apps and main meals all came out pretty quickly!The only thing that caught us by surprise was that, we were informed 10-15 mins before the next booking, that our table was needed for another reservation. We were celebrating 2 birthdays, and didn't end up having time for dessert.A small suggestion would be to adopt a way at time of booking reservations, to advise patrons that they only have a certain amount of time at their table. That way no surprises will be encountered! Other than that, the overall experience was great!

I live in Toronto but always find a reason to go to Ottawa just so I can go to Whalebone to experience the seafood. They have the most amazing oyster selections every time I go there, and something always new to experience. They also have an amazing seafood chowder that is a must try, and if you like crab cakes its anothrt item I recommend ordering. If you 're looking for a great dessert order the mini-churros.The service is always great as they 'll make you feel like a regular, and give you suggestions on what oysters you might be interested in. I personally enjoy sitting at the bar section for a more entertaining experience as you can watch the oyster shucking action.

Incredibly great food and service to match! Cameron was fantastic at taking care of us and made some fantastic recommendations! Try the habanero sauce with the oysters!
