Little Macs - Ottawa

Best gluten-free burgers, chicken waffles, French fries and milkshakes in town! I wish I knew what the building had been built for and used as before Mac's moved in... it's a historic building even if it's not as majestic as other Hintonburg establishments. My burger was severely undercooked. I took two bites before I realized it : while steak is fine rare, ground meat is not. It was also falling apart, burger buns were extremely soggy. Hopefully this was ground fresh but something tells me I'm not going to be lucky.

I was excited to try the gluten free food here but I should have walked away when I saw the condition of the place. They had just opened for lunch and every table was dirty. The place is old, dusty and gross. Dirty condiment bottles, dirty kitchen, dirty bathroom, cobwebs and dead bugs on the window frames. When I asked the server for utensils he brought them over with wet soaking hands dripping all over the utensils. I’m kicking myself for not walking away. I ordered the fish and chips and the fish was so overdone I could barely cut into it. Whatever little fish was inside was completely dried out. The fries looked good but I had completely lost my appetite by then and no longer cared to find out.

My wife and i had exellent fish and chips it was a small portion unfortunately service and has parking on site and seating you can watch the kitchen cook and everything is lactose and gluten free and you wouldnt even notice will be returning!

I love, love, love this place. My favourite crispy fries ever. I moved to ottawa, never having had fried chicken, a few years ago and lil Mac’s did not disappoint me! It’s been so hard to find good “fast food” as a celiac my whole life but lil Mac’s is completely gluten free and is a very regular takeout option for me. I also love to sit outside on their patio in good weather
