Had a work luncheon there a few weeks back, ordered the fish and chips, and they were bar none, the best I have EVER had. Paid a few dollars more than the usual price....but you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.....by far. If I ever want seafood at a restaurant, this is where i am going from now on. View all feedback.
What Abdiel Hamill doesn't like about Lapointe Sea Grill Cafe & Deli:
The menu has changed to mostly breaded fish!!! It used to be a great fish restaurant, now, less than mediocre. or worse. They don't even carry their sesame crusted salmon signature dish. Lapoint's, apologize to the fish!! View all feedback.
Good fish restaurant with average prices compared to those of the surrounding premises and frequented by locals. It is possible to dine outside, enjoying the via go of people of the byward market, or in the interior room, where there is also a sushi bar.
I had dinner here and couldn't finish it, due to the high levels of salt. I chose the bouillabaisse fish soup, which contained an old chewy piece of salmon, a few shrimp, some tired mussels and a few rubbery clams. The food was edible but the soup was so salty I could barely eat a few mouthfuls. The servers were pleasant enough but I won't be back until they shake up the main dishes.
This was a wonderful sushi spot to find in the basement of Lapointe's in the market. It was so hot outside and lovely and cool for a sushi lunch. Excellent sushi at a reasonable price (we chose our own).
Well received in a pleasant dining room. There were several lunch options for about fifteen dollars. I took the cod (in fact, mini hamburgers with cod between two breads) and fries. Very/too generous serving for the noon, but delicious, perfectly spicy.
Located in the area of byward market. with an important variety of fish and seafood. very good food. the place (porão) a little but pleasant. Excellent beer. a little expensive.
