You should definitely make a pit stop at this restaurant on your next visit to the Governor General grounds. They have a great selection of freshly made soups and sandwiches. View all feedback.
There are a few seats outside, but really it's take-out only. You won't mind this in nice weather, as Rideau Hall or the Minto bridges are just steps away for a nice picnic.42 Crichton has saved us so many times for delicious and nutritious hot 'home-cooked' dinners though. We often pick up their split-roasted chicken with veggies and it's as though it just came out of our oven (well, except I've never made a demi-glaze in my life). Gourmet saucy pulled pork poutine, a little deli selection (we pick up our dried sausage and cheeses here), a treat or 2 or 3 of the day, such as scones or chocolate ganache date cookies, or strawberry bread pudding or chocolate espresso brownie cake... Local, seasonal, and organic quality ingredients. You can taste the difference.
Absolutely check it out! _Lots of nutritious, yet sumptuous mains, soups, sides, and desserts on offer.__Go in and have a cappucino while you pick out

There are only a few seats available outside, as this restaurant is mainly for take-out. However, on a nice day, you can enjoy your food near Rideau Hall or the Minto bridges for a lovely picnic. Crichton has been a lifesaver for us many times with their delicious and nutritious hot home-cooked meals. Our favorite is the split-roasted chicken with veggies, which tastes just like it came out of our own oven. They also offer gourmet saucy pulled pork poutine, a variety of deli selections, and daily treats like scones, chocolate ganache date cookies, strawberry bread pudding, and chocolate espresso brownie cake. All made with local, seasonal, and organic ingredients that you can really taste the difference in.
