You can't expect much when it comes to AYCE sushi but 1000 Island has been my friends as well as my GO TO sushi AYCE restaurant. The selection fits our likings and how they prep their dishes are better than other AYCE restaurants. I'm sure 1000, hockey, and sushi village are some sort of chain as their food is quite similar.Their fried rice, fried udon, udon soups are better than other AYCE.Their rolls are pretty bom... What Sabina Gleason doesn't like about 1000 Sushi Islands:
This is a great place to eat sushi. The menu has many other Asian favourite dishes as well. Reviewed: this place used to be great. Unfortunately the last times we visited, the food didn’t taste fresh, the colour of the fish was a bit...suspicious and service was horrible. View all feedback.
An eclectic mix of Asian foods cooked to order. Ideal opportunity to try dishes out that you may or may not have seen before. Only a small amount of each dish is prepared so if you don't like it there is minimal waste. If you do like a particular dish then you can order several portions of it.
The food takes a long time to come, the sushi is horrible. It was a waste of money. Just don't go there.

People need to change their mindsets when coming to AYCEs.
1000 Sushi Islands is a bare bones, sometimes noisy space. The menu (on which you indicate your choices) includes the usual sushi as well as some Chinese, Thai and Canadian dishes. The chosen dishes arrive promptly and there is no limit on how many items you order. We have found the restaurant very clean, the food very good and the service quick but impersonal.
This is a great place to eat sushi. The menu has many other Asian favourite dishes as well. Price is very reasonable for an all you can eat restaurant. The only down is that sometimes the staff gets a bit overwhelmed, especially if it is a larger group, and the service tends to slow down. But it is still worth.
