Rorbua Aker Brygge - Oslo

Great Norwegian restaurant, interior looked very style full. The food tasted great very good meat. The price in relative to the quality was okay, Oslo was typically a bit more expensive. Service was good even though the restaurant was full. Noticed some of the staff was new but really made the effort.

I ate whale steak in this restaurant. The restaurant has its own design and it looks cosy. After eating whale steak, I had some gastrointestinal problems. I don’t know was it because of the whale meat (I mean that this my first time trying whale meat, may be it is normal for the first time) or it was not prepared properly or it had already started to be spoilt. Anyway, I am always in the quest of traditional food but if you have a sensitive stomach, just evaluate other options…

The fish soup is creamy. Actually, it's more like lobster soup than fish soup that makes it even more tasty. also mixed meat is good. the boknafisk is Norwegian, which is not always available on menus, so we tried it here. it is actually semi-dried cod that has a unique smokey taste. not bad, but I like fresh cod more.

Ate here on our first night in town to try some local dishes. The taste of Norway looked small when we got it but my husband was full by the time he finished eating it. Not many places had the option to try whale, this was a good way to taste it but not potentially waste a whole entree if you did not like it. I got the reindeer steak which was delicious and perfectly cooked. Staff was friendly, decor was interesting, and location was good. Would eat there again.

Typical Norwegian restaurant. place where they try to whale, elk, brain steaks and spits. plucked: grilled pure steak with potato, jam and sweet. really delicious and juicy fried steak with kartoffel, jam and sweet. the meat was very soft, with a light taste of the leber. perfect service, pleasant atmosphere. directly next to the tourist harbour.
