I recently went here with some work colleagues. We ordered a full rack of ribs, poutine and the beef brisket. The full rack alone should feed 2 to 3 people. The ribs were delicious and fell off of the bone. The poutine and fries in general were very good. This is a really nice location and the menu had a lot of options. The price was very good considering the quality of the food. View all feedback.
What Emmie Auer doesn't like about Stuttering John's Smokehouse:
Our brisket was tough. They gave us lots of gravy which helped. Slow service. We were there 3 months ago and maybe it's improved. Maybe will give it another chance and try another dish :) View all feedback.

I have been here a number of times with friends and family. I have found that the food is always good and the servers are pleasant.
The atmosphere is very quaint & cozy...it almost feels like someone's home. The service is a bit slow but the staff is courteous. The food is outstanding! We ordered a meat platter (Beef Ribs, Brisket & Pulled Pork with sides)...the price is well worth it! We split the platter and still had leftovers! A very good dining experience.
Ordered two strip loin steaks at $31.00 each because this is the only cut of steak we ever order. Our server came and told us we could have a shared blooming onion free because she heard my husband wish me a happy birthday. Wondered about the $6.00 freebie, but we were happy with it and thanked her. The blooming onion at Stuttering John's is not a blooming onion so beware if that's what you expect. The onion is actually a few onion chunks breaded and deep fried but it was free and the sauce was lovely. However, what they call a blooming onion is not a blooming onion, and what they call a strip loin steak is a thin slice of beef with a sliver of bone attached. That was when we learned WHY we got the the 'freebie' when our meals arrived. We looked at our two (roughly 1/4" thick or less) slices of meat cut from the rib, I guess (a sliver of bone was still on). We told the waitress that these weren't strip loin; strip loins don't have bones attached and are generally not so thin. She came back and said "they said they were strip loin" - she looked so forlorn we decided to accept these $31.00 each (total $62.00) for two limp, tough, slices of meat. It wasn't our server's fault, she was actually a good wait person. She was so sorry that we gave her a very very good tip knowing we would never EVER return. If this is the kind of stuff she was forced to bring to a table, the angst she must have felt earned her a good tip. When the bill came for two strip loin steaks, at $94.89, for a glass of wine, beer, coffee and the horrid alternative to a strip loin, we agreed that this was the worst rip off we've ever experienced. On top of that. AFTER we paid and gave our tip, the bill we eventually got said "2 RIBEYE STEAKS" - but still $31. per. What a gong show! If you love steak, go somewhere else!!
