The Polite Pig in Disney Springs, the definition of American consumerism, was a pleasant surprise. Surrounded by chain shops and restaurants, The Polite Pig was the respite our family needed with great food and drinks. Here is our experience for a Tuesday lunch: 1) Food: To feed a hungry family of three (my wife, my five-year-old daughter and I), we ordered the Butcher Board for $42. It came with pulled pork, smoked chicken (on the bone), brisket, corn bread, Slav and two sides (we baked Mac and cheese and beans). Truly, every dish was really delicious with excellent texture. The winners were the brisket, beans, Mac and cheese and corn bread. BBQ and other sauces are inside. 2) Beverages: For $5, my wife ordered a strawberry frozen cocktail and my Sangria costs $11. 3) Price: For as close to Disney World, the prices were not as bad as we expected! Our bill came under $70 for the three of us to eat lunch complete with drinks. 4) Service: Order inside and take your hive on any open table, including the outdoor tables. The servers then bring your food to you based on a tracker. If you pay in the register, ask you to type. 5) Atmosphere: It is spacious with a bar, indoor kitchen and an outdoor terrace. Although it was busy during lunch, we immediately found a clean outdoor table.
This place has great BBQ. The sharable butcher board was perfect for the two of us to share and try different things. The Mac and Cheese was delicious as were all the meats. The pitcher of Sangria was well worth it. The ceasar chicken salad was quite tasty as well. Worth the stop for sure.
During a Disney family trip we had a evening open with no reservations so we decided to give this place a try. We ended up loving this place because the food was fantastic and the service and drinks were also great. Staff was friendly, helpful and service was fast. I loved their draft beer options. We definitely will be visiting again on our next Disney trip.
We were surprised across the board with the depth and complexity of flavor across every item we tried: from the mac and cheese to the multitude of sauces at the sauce bar to each smoked meat (brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and chicken). Every meat was tender, flavorful, and stood on its own without the need for sauce. Speaking of sauce, you will want to drink them on their own. Trust me. The key lime pie is very key limey, the filling is smooth, and the crust has good flavor with an almost brown sugar (reminded us of BBQ in a way) flair. It 's only ding was the crust was on the grainier side. The bourbon chocolate chip cookies is very flavorful, great texture leaning towards soft and less baked on the inside with a crisp exterior. The chocolate rocks add a cool element. Definitely worth a try if you enjoy chocolate chip cookies, especially ones leaning towards a Gideon 's Bakehouse-esqe style. Grab a Butcher Board to sample everything and you won 't be disappointed.
Absolutely wonderful barbecue and some of the best chicken I have ever eaten. For the huge amount of people they push through these lines, I am stupefied that they are able to maintain such high quality. Mac and cheese tastes like they start with a fine béchamel sauce which packs a wonderful taste and maintains the consistency very well. The staff was so friendly and helpful as well, and for Disney, the prices are pretty on point. Will make sure to hit this place again before leaving!
