The chefs went above and beyond to ensure that our meals and overall experience were exceptional. We enjoyed our dinners there so much that we ended up eating there every night after spending our days sightseeing. View all feedback.
What Neil M doesn't like about Scapa Flow:
The appetizers were excellent, but the main courses were quite average. The prices were a bit high for pub food. The staff was fantastic and the restaurant is conveniently located in the heart of Stromness. View all feedback.
The only opened restaurant in stormness at moment. beautiful service, full plate for low price.
It is an excellent, friendly place and eating is delicious. we went every morning and night to eat. you might need to book. the apple crumb is a magical straw.
What a restaurant! you go back to a bygone ära for over 100 years, but this is for eating. there was a group of us so we saw a cross section of the menu. in short, it was all good, so why only 4*? the veggies. they were all beautifully prepared, the chips were beautiful. but they could have been better presented. the kartoffels were simply cooked, melted in mouth delicious, but would have been better served in a small butter with some crumbs. the same for the carrots who had a little butter, but we had to crush them ourselves. the Baileys cheesecake is perfection: do not change anything. the cheese plate was good for me 'cos there was to me, a 2 day visitor, Orkney cheese and Orkney oatcakes; more haferkuchen please and what was this white granular, completely tasteless cheese? the lobster bowl is brilliant; the duck, the steaks were all tasty, only a scandal over the view of the veggies. now we offer real coffee and the evening would have been exceptional.
Instead of the trendy, old-fashioned style restaurant fits the middle aged to gray money diner instead of trendy youngsters. good eating, rather standard menu that I liked to make reasonable trips with good portion sizes. excellent design and filled orkney beer. good service of pleasant waiter and great to look over the harbour on the island hoy also from our table on the back of the restaurant. there can not be five stars as the chips were not brilliant and the whole place needs a little sanation, but would go back.
Curry of the day is never less than superb. Good beer too.
