What Kelly doesn't like about Route 20 Ice Cream:
Was excited to see vegan options but the cost is so high. They charged $21.04 for 1 baby vanilla cone, 1 small vanilla cone and 2 small (tiny) milkshakes. Definitely not worth the high price tag since the quality isn’t great either. View all feedback.

I've had sundaes there before and they were very good, I take my father there for a mini banana split and what he got was ice cream and three different flavored syrups nasty.

Went there last night for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. The sizes were huge and tasted great.
Every ice cream stand is different, whether they have a modern feel, a fantasy setting, or some sort of odd aesthetic to draw in customers. Route 20 leans into the vintage aesthetic with its railway car seating and vintage garage setup and seating.Route 20 has very friendly staff, is easily accessible off of Southwestern Blvd, a good amount of seating around and a lot to explore and look at.I 'm very happy they have vegan options (usually in the form of a rotating Dole Whip option), and they also have very friendly staff that seem like they 're able to enjoy their work inside. The inside is relatively clean, though slightly dated. It looks sanitary enough to where I return when I come through the area.Erie county 's Department of Health gave it a non-critical seemingly for some grimy non-food surfaces, and the stand has a couple complaint inspections , meaning that a couple people complained about the state of things, though no violations were found. This is just about my experience when I can see the glimpses of the stand. The outside could use a bit of an overhaul in the way of new paint on the customer side of the building and some general tidying up of that space. The interior of the rail car could be cleaned up a bit, as it has a bit of an unfavorable odor inside. The garage with seating could also use a bit of a cleanup and sanitization, appeared very dusty in the corners and had a bit of a musty smell as well. It was one of those scenarios in which it would be very satisfying to pull everything out of the structure for a deep clean.Again, all that being said, I still come by from time to time to enjoy their ice cream.
