our family has made reservations that were almost twice as large as the original reservation and la cantina made an amazing work to receive with us. the eating tastes fresh and the server informed us that the bark originates locally from a farm not far from the restaurant. service, eating and the experience in the interior of a covered terrace surpassed our expectations. we will definitely return! What User doesn't like about La Cantina Opelika:
the service was terrible. the food lasted an hour to come from the ordered time. nothing was done by the administration to solve this problem. I will not return. View all feedback.
Tacos are great! The ingredients are fresh and they have great options with creative combinations. I definitely recommend the lobster and the shrimp tacos. Friendly service and nice restaurant--overall great experience and food!
This place is located in the beautiful city of Opelika and is the only Mexican cuisine on the strip of restaurants there. Good ambience and good furnishings. The food is served has a remarkable pronounced taste. Pineapple to do on chorizo taco, picked onion on black beans flat bread pizza are some examples. Taste ...it is really nice, definitely recommend! Lightly expensive but compared to other local Mexican eateries. The administration was asked to replace the tacos...if my friend complained about it being cold and not warm enough. The waiter knew something about the menu, again shows good house of service! Clean toilets!! All a beautiful experience!!!!
Not just the run of the mill Mexican restaurant. Interesting new food combinations. We'll go back. Friendly service.
Delicious food and quaint setting. We were so pleasantly surprised and will definitely visit again!!
La Cantina hits every mark consistently. The food is so much better than your typical, cliche free chips and salsa joint. Don 't come in expecting your standard Mexican fare. The complimentary salsa trio is a great starter with a traditional red, a bright citrusy green, and my favorite black bean and corn salsa. I almost always order the queso and chorizo which has the right amount of spice to balance out the creamy cheesy dip. Some favorite entrees are the steak quesadilla (steak is well seasoned and has never been overcooked, pressed in a lightly buttered and crispy tortilla) or the burrito bowl (with grilled chicken mixed with black beans, corn, rice, peppers, onions and queso making a hearty, savory, satisfying meal that is enough for lunch the next day). As far as drinks, I 've been impressed with the offerings on the menu as well as the willingness of the staff to make exactly what I request even when ordering off menu. It is a bit more expensive than your standard Mexican pricing, but it is worth the extra dollar or two for the freshness and quality of ingredients used. The servers and hosts are friendly and gracious, and you can tell they truly want you to have a good experience. The atmosphere is relaxing and fun with a great modern small town vibe, that doesn 't take itself too seriously, and matches with the decor and location. If you 're looking for something a little different, but that will still have a menu to please everyone, and not break the bank give La Cantina a try. And don 't forget to save room for dessert!
