Food was good. Lighting was too bright in main dining area. Annoying ski families with iPads on full volume while playing games at their tables. Couldn't even hear the overhead music. Wasn't worth the half hour drive from Maple Crest to dine here. Will stick to Scribners next time. View all feedback.
What Vicky doesn't like about Catamount:
It's a nice place but food is uninspiring though perfectly accceptale. I ordered the Bolognese, which is a meat sauce with some tomatoes in the mix, not a tomatoe sauce with meat in the mix. But they were nice about it, discounte my dish by 25%. My friend ordered the eggplant, but said it was just two large pieces of tomato wtih thin slices of eggplant in between and a slice of cheese. Every Every detail Was wonderful! The blackened trout was over the top delicious. WE will be back soon.
Great dinning experience inside or outside by the water. Nice resort facilities adjacent to the restaurant as well as shopping.
Did not have great expectations to start. It appeared that they were short servers as seems to be everywhere these days. The busboy we observed was covering an area that should be shared by two. Kudos to him. I’d hire him for his work ethic. Service was mediocre at best. (and please restaurants stop asking us to keep our used utensils for the second course (pet peeve! Had a mixed green salad with pecans and blue cheese and apples to start. Three very thinly sliced apples and a few minuscule bites of cheese in the bowl. It was dull to say the least. Lacked flavor and was presented in a round flat bowl which seemed odd. My risotto with asparagus and sun dried tomatoes was just ok. Not very creamy and had way too many sun drieds. Should have had more asparagus. We passed on dessert if there was any. I hesitate to give establishments low scores but it’s the only way they can level up and fix what’s broken. I will not be returning again. With the cost of dining out these days one shot is what I give.
The food is delicious here. We visited on a Sunday morning and had the steak and eggs and homemade corn beef hash. I am impressed when even the sides, like the freshly made toast to the red potato home fries are well made. Nothing was left on our plates!
Excellent meal. I brought 2 guests and we all loved our different dishes. Our server Delila was excellent.. cheerful and kind. I hadn't been here for several years but will be coming back over and over. Thanks to the staff and the Chef! karen
