Old Chicago Pizza Taproom - Okemos

I'm not sure how well-known this place is, but they offer a two-course dinner for $20 for takeout. It's the best deal I've seen in a long time. The staff is always very friendly and the food is delicious! I used to dine in, but ever since I discovered the $20 deal, I've been ordering from here all the time.

Four of us went to this restaurant on a Saturday evening. Unfortunately, the service was not up to par. We ordered pizza and a burger, and my husband requested a beer from the draft list. It took about 20 minutes for the beer to arrive, and it was served in a can instead of on draft. Additionally, the waitress brought him the wrong beer. When our food finally arrived, the burger order was incorrect because the waitress had entered it wrong into the system. The correct burger took a long time to come out, and we had almost finished our pizza by the time it arrived. When we were ready to leave, we had trouble getting the server's attention because she had not left a pen for us to sign the bill. Overall, the food was mediocre - the pizza was average and a bit greasy, while the burger was unimpressive. We do not plan on returning to this restaurant in the future.

The staff at the restaurant was excellent. Our waiter provided great service. The food was delicious, however, the presentation was lacking. My son's chicken strips entree only consisted of 6 chicken strips on a plate, with no fries or sides, which we found to be unusual. Although everything tasted good, the overall presentation was not very exciting.

My wife and I went to this restaurant yesterday for the first time in a while. We were impressed by the fantastic service, delicious beer, and phenomenal pizza. We will definitely be returning more often and bringing friends. We also loved the pint glasses we purchased. Thank you to our waitress Carol and the General Manager!
