eating is an inspired and surprising mix of Venezuelan and Mexican cuisine. we have been twice as far and had wonderful service and delicious eating elegantly presented in a comfortable and beautiful room. all from the ententacos to the lasagne to the arepas are rich and tasteful. this is one of our favorite spots in oaxaca. I should have made a photo, but I was too busy enjoying both the food and the company. that was my first visit, but not my last one. my friend and I have one of the two specials of the day. we started with an salate of marianted cauliflower, olive and other vegetables in a light picante sauce. then I had chicken with portbello mushrooms with a sweet sauce on a bed rice. for dessert we had cocosis with mangos sauce. it costs $97 pesos. my friend had a fish fillet with artichoke hearts and a light sauce on a bed rice. I tasted her fish and she tasted my hen and we both would have been thrilled. google maps did not say when they opened, and I am at 1:30 there. they were not open. they saw me sitting on the step, saying they opened at 2 o'clock and opened the doors and let me in to wait for my friend. service was polite and good. unfortunately we were the only customers. I'm looking forward to my next visit. I'll take photos next time. but here is another picture of the santo domingo church to keep it until I return to maiz pilao.
Came here for a three-course lunch that was delicious! the dessert was a frutos rojos sorbet with red wine reduction

Great new addition to the oaxaca food scene! eating is uplifted, but not pretentious and the space is open and beautiful ordered. we tried the crema de calabaza suppe, duck tacos and the swan bauch and bananensandwich. everything was great, but damn it was money! take the time to find it, definitiw it worth it!
A small out of the way treasure of a place. Imagine haute cuisine on a backpacker budget served by folks who are as excited by the creation and serving of food as you are in indulging in it. Local flavours with a very international and modern twist. A fine place. Don't miss it.
