We have just moved from UK and my kids are fuzzy on their fish & chip. They always compare what they can have in UK. So we tried a lot of places for f&c but so far Sammy's is ahead. It is not exactly the same in UK - the fish is dip in beer batter and chip is greasy, but Sammy's is very similar and my kids like it. As a disclaimer, I'm English. We invented fish and chips and I've eaten at the best in the UK so perhaps I'm a harsh judge. On one hand it is easy to find, easy to park, fast on service and the food is cooked right there when you order it. On the other hand, it is just average on taste. The portions are good but it is a little expensive for what you get. View all feedback.
Sammy serves up the best fish and chips in town, guaranteed to be hot, flaky, and fresh. He quickly serves each meal with a smile, whether you choose to dine in your car or sit at one of his picnic tables. It's definitely worth a visit and you won't be disappointed! Just make sure to bring cash or quickly head to the ATM up the street while your meal is being prepared. Enjoy your meal!
Sammy's Fish and Chips in Bronte is a RIP OFF. He runs out of fries and still charges $13 for one piece of fish. Also, for take out customers, he gives burnt fries and smaller fish pieces because he knows it is packaged and customer will have it away from the stall. He has no smile on his face either. Real disappointment. Stay away from this place. It is a RIP OFF!! I would give all negative ratings if they were on the chart.
Visiting Sammy's is a great Bronte tradition. Nothing fancy, just good hot dogs, sausages and, best of all,Fish and Chips! Picnic table seating once you order and pay (Cash Only). Only open approx May-Oct as it is essentially an outdoor food truck. Great Value! Can't wait to next year!
We've been eating at Sammy's for many years and have never been disappointed with the service and quality of food. Fish chips are excellent always hot tasty. The owner is super friendly and always remembers us : We will continue to visit Sammy's we love the food!
