Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant Venga Paella offers a mix of highs and lows. While some dishes like the stuffed piquillo peppers and salad with fruity olive oil dressing were exquisite, the chicken paella received mixed reviews with some finding it lacking in true paella flavor. The paellas were praised overall and the restaurant was considered comfortable and enjoyable for a night out with friends. With a variety of options from tapas to dessert, Venga Paella seems to have something for everyone, and is worth a return visit to explore more of their menu.
Last Friday night, our group of four had a bizarre and unfriendly encounter with our server at the restaurant.
Experience was terrible, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Five of us dined at the restaurant and ordered three tapas and four different types of paella. The food was delicious and satisfying. We were celebrating a birthday and the restaurant made the experience enjoyable and memorable.
The paella at this hidden gem nestled among Jack London's warehouses is absolutely delicious and expertly prepared. The atmosphere is cozy, casual, and unpretentious.
They were included in Oakland Restaurant Week but were not taking reservations at the time, so we chose to go elsewhere. We finally visited on a Wednesday and were underwhelmed by the paella and uninspiring industrial setting with no decor or appeal. The server was friendly, but we do not plan to return. We recommend trying the paella place in Temescal instead.
