if I could leave 0 stars, I would. we spent 45 minutes in island way. in these 45 minutes we could only order drinks and appetizers. the blonde hostess is extremely rude and jordan is very argumentatiw and unprofessional. save their time, energy and frustration and take them somewhere else. it looks like they were a good restaurant, but these days have come and gone. promise with a customer should never happen. What travel girl doesn't like about Island Way:
Unremarkable. Pricey and just ordinary. I had the Grouper Neptune. For $27 it was grouper on a bed of asparagus topped with crab-meat, a few shrimp and hollandaise sauce. Sounds good but looked like a lump of gray on a few sprigs of gray. The vegetables that accompanied it were equally unremarkable. The stir fried summer vegetables were doused with a seasoning that strongly resembled something from the McCormick spik... View all feedback.
I was in Oak Island for a client who wanted to buy a house. I found this gem and absolutely loved it. Great food, excellent service and by the ocean. My meal was a simple fish and chips but it was excellent. Other entrees being carried to diners looked amazing. It fills quickly and I strongly suggest making reservations.
Fantastic! My wife and I ate there three times a week on holiday. Leave the outer appearance you do not deceive, very raised inside. Chris the manager, and Riley the bartender made sure everything was perfect during every visit. The staff is amazing! You always move to make sure your experience is 5 stars. One of our servers was Abbie; she was brand new, but treated our dinner like a professional. Food is excellent. I ordered a briefing for one night and could literally cut it with my fork. If busy during the evenings, I would highly recommend making reservations, but lunch is usually a little less crowded. The restaurant has huge picture windows, sits right on the beach, and there are restaurants outside. Would definitely go back if we were somewhere near the area.
Great location and ambience. Dress is casual. The food is excellent. Medallion steak cooked to perfection, tender, and the bacon was crisp. Lobster Ravioli was perfection. The filling is delicious. Taylor was excellent, polite and timed our meal perfectly. We also had the crab dive, it was smooth, creamy, and the cream cheese did not exaggerate the crabs. It was also well seasoned. Make sure to make a reservation. We sat in the windows. You can see how the sea jumps over the dunes. Enjoy!
Brilliant service and a great early evening menu. The fish and chips was different from home but still delicious. No issue with the portion sizes and for once I had ti take the rest home. Place was packed but waiters still had time to check up on us and refill our drinks. Will be back on a few weeks time and I?m looking forward to it!
I wanted to take my daughters some place nice before we head back home to Cali. The scenery was well lit and the decor was nice. The restrooms were clean and our food did arrive fairly quickly. My daughters ordered the Chicken Parmigiana Panini with a side of fries. The sauce was spread well, cheese melted and the fries were nice a crisp. I ordered the Coconut Shrimp with a side of fries. The shrimp did lack flavor but the sauce on the side did provide sweeter taste. The fries were crisp on the outside and fluffy on on the inside. My portion size was the lunch portion and for the price paid for it, I wish it would?ve come with rice or something else. It felt like it was 2 appetizer put on one small plate. The restaurant seemed to be short staffed- as we watched one party of 3 and other party of 2 get up and leave out of frustration regarding the delay in being able to order as well as receive their food. The only two complaints we had were: there were just too many flies whirling about the inside. And when we walked in, the hostess was helping to seat a party of 2, and when she was done seating them, she answered with phone calls before even acknowledging us.
