What User doesn't like about Happy Dough Lucky:
2 stars may seem a bit hard because we really enjoyed eating, but it was quite strange in there. it seems as if many restaurants had gone downhill as kovid, what is understandable, that is probably one of them. we came for the vegan options, but the menu we were given was very different what was online and many of these options were not available (especially the desserts.) there was only one worker who was strange and probably difficult for him. the damentoilettes were terrible all broken locks, toilet roll dispensers empty and broken on the floor, no soap. men had no running water. in consideration all this, it seemed overpriced as imaginative bar prices in a pub that barely holds it together. Sorry, I hope they can turn it around!.
The pizza had a delicious, chewy dough and a great taste, and the cocktails were fantastic. However, like another reviewer mentioned, the bathrooms were dirty and unpleasant.
We really enjoyed the food at this restaurant, but our overall experience was quite strange. It seems like many restaurants have suffered since Covid, and this one may be one of them. We were disappointed to find that the vegan options we had come for were different from what was displayed online, and many of them were not available, especially the desserts. With only one staffer on duty, the service was a bit slow and probably overwhelming for him. The women's restroom was in poor condition with broken locks, empty and broken toilet paper dispensers, and a lack of soap. The men's restroom had no running water. Despite these issues, the prices were high, resembling those of a fancy bar in a struggling pub. It's unfortunate, but hopefully they can improve in the future.
I highly recommend visiting this restaurant whether you are vegan or not. They have delicious pizzas and sides, and the owner is very friendly.
First of all this was one of, if not the worst services I've ever received from a restaurant. We were the 3rd group into the doors at 5pm. We received our first round of drinks really quickly. After that we were just simply forgotten about. I had to get up to ask for service for food. 30 minutes had passed and people who came in after us were having their orders taken. The pizzas looked lovely, but we didn't pay £17 for a pizza base. Where were all the toppings??? 5 pizzas In total, all lacking decent toppings. Massive let down. I had to once again get up and ask for a second round of drinks. By the time they arrived we had almost finished our food. We asked for the 12.5% service charge to be taken off as their simply wasn't any service on the night. It felt as is if the staff were more interested In having a chat among themselves and taking pictures of the pizzas. And how can I forget about the disgusting toilets with no working sinks or hand wash? All in all, it was a terrible experience and my hopes were really high for this place because of the rave reviews I've read. 2/5!!
Hands down best pizza in Nottingham!! What a little gem! Friendly fast service, simple tasty menu, great music and atmosphere. If you are thinking about going don’t hesitate.
