Contribute Feedback What Reyes Friesen doesn't like about Basta Pasta - Perry Hall:
We booked a reservation for a late dinner as we weren't arriving to the resort until late. The server seemed annoyed with us as soon as we sat down. He seemed further frustrated when we ordered, as we didn't order appetizers he tried to push on us. Positiw: we sat immediately and the server was pleasant. negatiw: eating and drinking was not good. my steak was understated, regretted to send it back because it came back as expected. veggies lack of taste. the lasagne has blurred in the sauce and made it like a suppe. we can place tasty meals at a better price at other places. we will not be back.
The family salad was a step up with green and black olives. very tasty. we took it home. the flieduccine tastes so tender as if it were homemade.
Crab cakes were delicious. the best we had. Pasta dishes also great. personal friendly and attentive. we're coming back.
Excellent service. Pasta veggie dish bland. Halibut very good.
I view this restaurant as a sort of upscale Olive Garden. The entrees are more authentic and there are more diverse selections than you typically find at your local OG, but the place still had a chain restaurant feel to it. The food was really good though and they are generous with their portions (food and drinks). The service was only fair as they were understaffed but the waitstaff's teamwork was solid. My wife is not really big on Italian cuisine, so the restaurant has to be really stellar for her to want to go back and I don't think this place did it for her.
