This is actually a 4.5*. Excellent place for a cozy and relaxing dinner. Had their signature lamb burger and pint of organic beer. Lamb burger was simply superb, on Wednesdays they have all burgers for 11$. Overall a nice place to have fun with friends and a good meal. View all feedback.
A true Irish experience in Toronto! Friendly service and great ambiance. The portions are very good. Tried below so far 1) salmon with wild grains 2) hunter pie with sweet potatoes fries 3) mushrooms flat bread 4) Irish coffee (must try) Will definitely visit again!

I was here for our work Christmas party. We had an entire section to ourselves. The menu was customized for us. I had the veggie burger and it was great. Also, the best coleslaw that I ever had. The staff was really friendly and bonus points to this place for having a parking !
2017/03/18<br/ St. James Gate is what I would imagine an Irish pub looks like. Maybe one of these days we will get to travel to the real St. James Gate and find out for ourselves. It was the night *after* the St. Patrick 's Day celebrations, and the pub was about half full. We got to pick our table, and we chose one of the few teaming booths. <br/ <br/ Of course on a weekend such as this, SWMBO started out with a pint of Guinness and then proceeded on to Fish Chips (1-pc). 8 ounces of light, flakey haddock in a crisp beer batter. The fries were fresh cut, skin on, well cooked. <br/ <br/ I started with a pint of Sommersby, after asking if the tap was fresh, and I was assured they were; light, a little sweet, and refreshing. After that I had the Royale Burger with Cheese. All of there burgers are in a section of their menu called 'Two Fisted Burgers '. My burger was definitely one of those. Two 4 ounce patties, stacked with havarti and cheddar slices, sauce, and pickles. It was one of those burgers that you could not put down after starting, for fear that it would fall apart on the plate. Juicy, savoury, tasty. Fortunately the server had already provided some wet naps, because I definitely needed one when I finished that burger. <br/ <br/ Our server was very good, checking in with us a few times during the meal. Nicely done.
Went with a group of about 15. We waited over an hour for our food. But when it did come it was all very good. The mussels were a big hit around the table, as was the club sandwich and the burger. Really fresh ingredients and everyone was satisfied. They said it was a family friendly restaurant but there was no kids menu. There was a fair number of kids there so that would have been good. A little pricey, but good atmosphere and quality fare.
