Turkish pide that is totally on par with what I had in Konya, Turkey! This is actually the first time I've had Turkish food in Toronto and it was surprisingly good. The pide (p-deh, but the staff said paaid? is super super crusty, toasted to perfection. I liked the ground beef best, then the mixed lamb, then the soujouk, just a personal preference as they are all tasty. View all feedback.
Went here with my husband after a long afternoon/evening shopping and we were both craving something filling. We found this place by chance after passing by it multiple times. Service is really welcoming. I ordered the adana/urfa kebab and my hubby ordered chicken doner dinner as they didn't have the veal and lamb doner available. Rice was old and my kebab was dry and under seasoned. I was quite disappointed. My hubby's chicken doner was also dry however his had more seasoning so I thought it tasted better.<br/ <br/ My husband actually returned with a friend and they both got the doner sandwiches. He says it tasted much better and is really good. So next time, I'll have to get the sandwich instead.
I've been there before and loved it, but this last time I was not impressed. Urfa kebab, normally juicy and flavourful, this time tasted like chopped meet with no spices. The same mix was on part of our pide, so that did not help. On the plus side, consistently generous portions, good rice.<br/ <br/ <br/ 22 Dec, 2013 <br/ <br/ Great Turkish food. Decor wise it's more of a takeout place. Try their Adana or Urga kebab plates: two skewers of flavorful minced meat with rice and veggies for $10. Milk pudding is impossible not to finish.
Best Turkish food. I can't believe this restaurant has no reviews yet. The food is absolutely delicious. The owners are Turks who make authentic Turkish food. The mercimek corbasi (lentil soup) is delicious just like the soup you would get in Ankara. Their manti is amazing. The pide is wonderful. Ditto for all their dishes. Everything is cooked to perfection with lots of flavor. If you like Turkish or middle eastern food, you must try this place.
Tonight was date night with my sister, a brand new resident of Toronto. I 'm having a blast taking her around to my favourite spots to eat! <br/ We wanted something quick and my go to fast food is a Doner/Shawarma wrap. <br/ We ordered Doner wraps (two for $7.99) and a couple baklavas for dessert, we dined in and the food was brought to our table. The service was delightful and we felt like we were being welcomed into a home.<br/ The wraps were fresh and flavoured just right! And the baklava is probably my favourite in the city. <br/ Just as we were about to leave the server brought us over a couple glasses of tea! <br/ This place is proof that you don 't have to sacrifice quality food and good service when providing 'fast ' options. <br/ Oh and p.s I would have taken a picture of my Doner but I was too excited when it arrived and devoured it! <br/
Shirin Kebab House is a casual neighbourhood diner in a strip mall. The ground beef Turkish pide is a cheeseless recipe, with a thin and light crust. The veal-and-lamb doner was a tasty bundle of meat packed into a cylinder of pita. For drinks, we enjoyed the cherry and pomegranate sodas in the van. We didn't try the baklava, as I'm allergic to walnuts.<br/ <br/ Tables and chairs are by the big window facing Eglinton. Families are comfortable bringing their children and toddlers. In the late afternoon, the turnover in clientele was relatively fast. During peak hours, take out would likely be more popular.
