What Hao Zhang doesn't like about Hot Spicy Spicy Chinese:
This is one of the most overpriced places I've ever visited, with plain noodle at around $11.99, and fried rice at $16.99. You may think you will get a bigger dishes without meat, but you are wrong. The taste is just so so, and the size of dishes is small as well with given prices. Use lots of oil to cover so you can't see what's in there. Definitely not recommend fried rice at that price, since it's at least 30% mor... View all feedback.
Very consistent Chinese restaurant, not sure why people give negative reviews like they described, absolute a hidden gem in North York. Highly recommend.
Minimal decor. Having a Chinese friend to go over menu helps ans English names don't always tell the whole story. <br/ <br/ Ordered a Bud (choices are Canadian, Bud, Coors Light) to drink along with complimentary green tea. <br/ <br/ Veggie Fried rice good not earth shattering. <br/ <br/ Cold noodle spicy and sweet at the same time. Will order again. <br/ <br/ Spicy Eggplant good (but prefer China Cottage's Hakka Eggplant)<br/ <br/ Hot and Sour Soup came last after starting to eat other food. good<br/ <br/ Chinese cabbage garlic. good<br/ <br/ Fish and Tofu excellent. With oily spicy (numbing mala spicy) gravy concoction. <br/ <br/ Red bean paste pancake for dessert skinny (best is at Sun's kitchen in Pacific Mall) but good<br/ <br/ Damage $73. Full tummies and happy friends. Take out containers filled the leftovers. <br/ <br/ Verdict: Will visit again.
'Better than Meh! '<br/ <br/ Minimum decor. Feels like a home kitchen. Service was prompt and courteous. Ordered spicy glass noodles, mah poh tofu, salted vegetable and pork rice cake. Everything tastes as when I remembered it to be back home. <br/ <br/ I give it a four star rating because the food was slightly saltier than I expected. But everything tastes as when I remembered it to be back home. I would recommend a beer to go along with the meal. <br/ <br/ Would definitely try again. <br/
Love their signature spicy chicken. I would order that every time I go there. The only problem is that I found the chicken texture is different from time to time. Overall great place for spicy food
