We visited high house barn for the Christmas event. And it was amazing. The santa was brilliant and our little boy loved every minute of it. Laura was very attentive and friendly. She made sure our time was special. Thank you Laura. View all feedback.
What JulieKennedy doesn't like about High House Farm Brewery:
Made a booking for a murder mystery weekend for 2 adults for my husbands birthday treat to include a stayover on thd 9th December 2023. Sadly on the morning, they had tried contacting me to cancel the event however we could still take the cabin, otherwise we could have a refund amongst other offers. We took the refund. A week later, after numerous calls, messages and emails, they are ignoring me. Gutted, as it is so... View all feedback.
Our second visit as the first time was a let down however the staff were friendly and apologised that the poor service was due to a staff shortage. We decided to give the restaurant another shot as we are all for supporting family businesses. However again the service was even slower, one meal was forgotten and one order was wrong. Kids ‘homemade’ fish and chips arrived with one breaded fish finger and one battered fish finger?! We were sat for over an hour and we were only offered drinks on one occasion. I feel sorry for the people running the restaurant as you seem like good people however the social media and website is extremely misleading as the quality and service is not what you would expect. It is a shame as we were keen to book some of the events on offer but wouldn’t risk it for a third time.
What an absolutely amazing weekend! We came as a family of 3 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Kirsty and Jason are fantastic. The Halloween Party with Jack and Sally on Friday was brilliant, our son joined in the whole thing, first time ever he has joined in on a party, he also tried new food and slept so so well! We were welcomed as guests and feel like we’ve left as friends. Food and drinks 10/10. Huge thank you to Connor aswell for his fantastic hospitality and amazing performance on Friday . We stayed in a bell tent, supplied with both heating and electricity, bedding and extra warm throws were provided, very comfortable indeed! Can’t wait to return early in the New Year. Can see this becoming a family favourite hotspot. Until next time gang. Thank you all so so much xx
Had a terrible experience. After limited correspondence back, the issues we had were finally acknowledged and we were promised a refund which still hasn’t been processed no care for visitors.
We booked the Gaze and Graze event at High House Barn for the 20th October and we’re really looking forward to it. We were travelling from North Tyneside to my parents in Corbridge then going to make our way to the venue from there. I received a call from my brother and dad around 5pm to say they’d drove along the roads to the venue in their 4x4 on the way back from where they’d been and the water was horrendous and they’d struggled to get through so my car wouldn’t make it. I rang the venue to raise my concern and was advised the roads were fine, I explained I only had a small car (Toyota Aygo) and that I was really concerned my car wouldn’t make it. I was then told it was up to my discretion if I tried to go. I asked if a refund would be offered due to the road conditions and was told a straight ‘no’. I then rang my brother and parents to state what the woman had said about the roads and my mum called the venue to explain the situation again and ask if we could even be moved to a different event or receive a gift voucher for food etc to use at a safer time. The woman on the phone was abrupt and rude and stated there was no future events and that a gift voucher couldn’t be offered and there would be no refund. Following our two calls to the venue I received an email 20 minutes later that stated ‘I understand the roads are quite tricky but as the astronomer can get there it is still going ahead’ it then went on to advise we could collect our grazing boxes so they didn’t go to waste. This wasn’t mentioned on the call and was clearly an after thought from the venue why would we step foot in a venue that views money and profit over the well being and safety of visitors? This event was not a cheap evening out at £35 per head and I think it’s absolutely disgusting that in an amber weather warning a refund could not be offered. The guidance clearly states ‘You should think about changing your plans and taking action to protect yourself and your property’ but clearly the owner of High House Barn feels this does not apply to them or their customers. I’m sure the greed and selfishness of this business owner will do nothing but negatively impact the success of their business. Spend your money elsewhere with an establishment that actually cares.
I would avoid going here for lunch. It was quite misleading given your social media is appears to be good. Glassware filthy. Food took over an hour to come out. Place very unclean. Avoid.
