I recently visited this pub for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We had Sunday dinner, which was deliciously cooked and came with a great variety of vegetables. Definitely recommend giving this place a try. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Livesey Arms:
Had a nice meal however the price was high and I had the cheese board instead of a pudding… one of the very small slices of cheese was as hard as iron if I’m honest the cheese board was naff not worth the money… View all feedback.
Staff helpful friendly meal delicious higher quality of meal very nice surroundings
We have been to this pub on several occasions in the past and have been quite happy to drive a fair distance to get really good food. How disappointing then to go today and be met by a lady who is defiantly in the wrong job. We were met by this dourer woman who I did not see crack a smile at all, we were seated and presented with menus but told there was only one cook in the kitchen and he was busy implying we would have a wait which considering I could only count 11 people including us was a little surprising. Anyway we ordered our drinks, a soft one for the driver and a pint of my favourite Landlord bitter for me. what arrived was a soft drink and a completely different bitter as the one I ordered was off, so sooner than give me the choice of drink this woman decided for me and served a beer I did not like, but anything for an easy life so I kept quiet and sipped. Then we were asked for our food orders which we were really looking forward to intending to go for three courses each. However before we even got started we were asked if we were ordering from the lunch menu or the al la cart, we said one meal from each and were told we both had to order from one or the other, when asked why we were told that was the way the cook wanted it.We sat for a few minutes trying to fathom the logic of this and when this lady came back I asked what if we were two separate customers who just happened to be sitting at the same table. The answer was that we both had to order from one or the other menu and that is just the way the cook wanted it for his convenience! We put £10 on the table for the drinks we did not drink and left.Such a shame that we have now lost this as a venue, but we will go to a pub that caters for the convenience of its customers and not the cook.Incidentally we used to run our own pub/restaurant for many years and this lady would not be working for me.
Great excellent and all superlative, friendly staff excellent eating and drinks. I can recommend this place to everyone
