Stopped for a cod chips and a haddock and chips on a Sunday afternoon. The building itself could be so much better but it's just run down and has a tired feeling to it. Think plastic chairs and sticky tables which isn't really a surprise as customers are expected to clear their own tables when they leave ! I came for a fish and chips on Good Friday and was amazed. The fish was fresh and had a thin layer of batter. I’d recommend this too anyone wanting an affordable dining experience. I noticed some wear and tear around the shop however I was made aware of ongoing renovation. The staff were helpful and excellent service. Will be returning
Having booked a train for 11,30 on Sunday morning, i pop into this iconic building to ask about the opening times . I was greeted by a lovely Guy and a Lady who was obviously in charge, asked the question and they said what would you be wanting , we will prepare it for you … we have just finished a most fantastic meal of Haddock chips and mushy peas whilst on our way to Manchester Airport, the other passengers were drooling with the smell wafting through the carriage. We shall definitely use the shop again . Well done Guys and Thankyou.
Poor service, poor food, we had sausage n chips, mini fish n chips, 2 large fish n chips it was so bad most of my sausage n chips went in the bin, both of the large fish didn’t get eaten. If I’d tried the daughters chips first I wouldn’t have wasted my money on mine as it was awful.
Amazing fish and chips! Properly full Very reasonably priced, lovely views, and very friendly staff. Definitely would recommend.
Best chippy I've had in a long time, just a shame the portion sizes have shrunk significantly since last time I visited
