Whether you want a coffee or a lunch there is an extensive menu for breakfast lunch or dinner. The quiche and salad is lovely, with fresh produce, always a delight. View all feedback.
What 640hayleyb doesn't like about Miss Marples:
Arrived today to be rudely told it was drinks only as they stop serving food at 4pm even though open until 5pm! When I pointed out it wasn’t even 4pm yet, she shrugged her shoulders and ‘there’s still no food’. Delightful young lady to have front of house, we don’t think!! View all feedback.
I dined at this restaurant with a friend who recommended the salmon and prawn risotto, which turned out to be extremely delicious and tasty. I couldn't try anything else on the menu, but based on the dishes I saw being served, they all looked appetizing. The staff was very friendly and attentive, making for a pleasant dining experience. I would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.
I think the reason for this is that almost every menu these days has overly elaborate and pretentious descriptions of the food. Because of this, I was a bit apprehensive when I read the menu that had simply and honestly described dishes. However, my Haddock and chips were clearly freshly prepared and perfectly cooked, making it a delightful treat. The service was quick and friendly. Overall, we were very impressed with the good food, reasonable prices, and pleasant staff. What more could you ask for?
The exterior may seem uninteresting and the interior could use some updating, but the restaurant was bustling which is a positive sign. The menu offers typical, straightforward options at reasonable prices. The food was tasty, ranging from simple sandwiches to traditional dishes. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall, it is a great spot for standard British cuisine.
Recent visit for a quick cappuccino and plum bread and tea cake. Quite a good presentation eager to please but had to be prompted to bring the cutlery. But the food which arrived was hot and tasty and quick. What was missing and did show on the waitresses was a lack of proper training in table arrangement.
I have been to this cafe many times but this is the first time n about 2 years...The staff were not very friendly...we ordered two baked potatoes with prawn and seafood sauce. The potatoes were clearly microwaved, very bland and not enough filling or sauce. We had to ask for extra sauce..the salad on the plate was scarce and at £7.50 it was not good value for money. We did tell a member of staff and she stated that most people prefer their potatoes not crunchy so the potatoes were cooked like that as a result of the customer request...I really find that hard to believe....will not be visiting again which is a shame as it used to be excellent..
