We visited in late July and rode the chair lift up Bear Mtn. Got a nice lesson in history of the area from a staff person and hiked around the Alpine loop. We then hiked down to the Base via Twister Cliffs and Trillium Trails. Great views and beautiful forest. We also saw deer, turkeys and various songbirds. We took our time and spent a little over 4 hours total there. A very enjoyable day. View all feedback.
What Sawyer Hicks doesn't like about Tannery Pub At Gore Mountain:
I visited here on 2/26/2023. The mountain was great and well maintained. We lucked out with some fresh snow. My main complaint is the staff in the ski rental and repair shop. At about 2PM I overheard staff members working at the rental area of the shop. They were joking with each other about hating snowboarders, with one staff member stating they should gather all the snowboarders together and burn them in an oven. T... View all feedback.

My home mountain, and I've had a season pass for years. So I can pick and choose when to visit. The good thing is, the trails are long enough, you can wear out your children. The day we took them up to the High Peaks for the first time was spectacular, and they loved it. The downside, high traffic industrial skiing on weekends, not helped when sections of the mountain are closed, can be pretty dreadful. Studying conditions on the website before your visit helps. Often though you don't know what you're getting until you get there. So, as with everything, caveat emptor.
Had terrific spring day skiing (3/30/23). Always go here on weekday to avoid crowds and this turned out to be sunny, high 20s day. Warm sun softened icy groomed trails as day went on and most were wide open with few skiers across their multiple lifts and gondola. Great views of High Peaks region too. My favorite place in New York to ski with wide variety of trails. More Gore!
Gore is a great mountain, really fun to explore! I highly recommend the backwoods trail accessible from the burnt ridge quad. A little out of the way of the rest of the mountain. There can be a lot of traversing involved and as a skier, I'm fine with it. However, my snowboarder son had to learn where to bomb to maintain speed. Over the years, I've had to tow him a bit!Food is pretty good for a ski mountain. I like the lodge: big, old, but not run down.
I went there with my husband and my 8 year old. The service is great, no lines, well groomed trails. My son took the 2 hour kids lessons and he loved it, the coach was knowledgeable and nice. We are going back for sure.
