A real variety of quality dishes with and spectacular servings at great value. In amongst the fresh seabreeze 2 min walk behind the lighthouse well worth the stop ???????? 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Ark Cafe:
Cold soggy chips with a very spongy tasteless battered fish, the side salad was tiny, seemed like it was a coleslaw with no dressing and a couple of cherry tomatoes. Very disappointing. View all feedback.
We revisited this restaurant in the United Kingdom in 2020 and noticed that it has been redesigned. It now has a more modern look and less of a shabby chic aesthetic. The food was good, arrived quickly, and was offered at a reasonable price.
After placing our order, we were informed that there would be a 25-minute wait, which was reasonable. However, 45 minutes later we were still waiting, which was not acceptable.
My experience at General Store Norah Head was awful. The tables were dirty, with water and drinking glasses stained black on the inside and around the rims. I ordered what I thought was freshly squeezed orange juice, but it turned out to be bottled juice. Even the glass it was served in was dirty. When I raised my concerns, the staff was unhelpful and uninterested. I had to ask for water, which also arrived in dirty glasses. The state of the glasses made me question the kitchen hygiene. The food that arrived was cold and undercooked, tasting old. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I will not be returning. I would have preferred not eating at all than wasting my money on such a poor lunch. The frequency of the word "terrible" in this review speaks to how bad the service and food at this place were.
I was here a few times. I enjoy the casual atmosphere. it is a beautiful place only moments of beaches and the lighthouse. eating is great. they even have bottles of real cola
Used to love this place but recently locked myself out of my car with phone shoes inside. Walked very hot road to the cafe to ask if I could borrow their phone to call for help. Was told they don’t have a landline but...possibly the bakery in town might. I thought maybe one of the three staff members behind the counter may have offered a mobile phone? Lucky for me a lovely lady outside overheard and offered me her phone… saved this 51 year old a walk along burning pavement to the bakery in the hope they may have a phone. Will never eat here again.
