We called in on spec at this restaurant and were not disappointed. The shoulder of lamb was succulent, the lobster sweet and well cooked and the scallops excellent. Will certainly return.
In a narrow street in a developing area off the Place Garibaldi we found the Pinxcho restaurant brightly painted in bold red with electric blue lighting and signage. Having read reviews we were not surprised to find it busy most nights. Having been helped to a space by the tireless waitress we set about choosing our fare. A quick scan of the other plates showed that there were clear favourites the lamb shoulder with mashed potatoes and cote de boeuf. My wife chose beyond this opting for red mullet on a bed of seasonal vegetables. Her verdict fabulous. I chose the cotes d e boeuf and would offer the same appraisal. A bottle of wine a few drinks and some coffees closed a very satisfying evening. Not the cheapest place to dine but reasonable for the quality of food presented. Yep I would pretty much go with the thrust of comments on the restaurant it's good but be prepared if it's busy it won't always be quick service. But you are on holiday enjoy the ambiance and the interesting people who make up the customer base.
So, Englishman comes to Nice, France, and the food generally was underwhelming where we ate! We came to pinxcho! Incredible! Ceviche to die for, cote de boeuf amazing! Brilliant wine. All traditional and brilliant in every way.
A treat for taste buds, good products, homemade and an extra service! Nothing to add, if not go!
