My niece and I went for breakfast at Perkins Restaurant and Bakery in Niagara Falls this morning. The place was huge and surprisingly, for a Sunday, not terribly busy. The first thing I liked about the place was our waitress, (Rosemary? Roberta? . She was extremely helpful and accommodating. My niece is vegetarian and the waitress helped her find something other than meat as her side. She also provided us with a full pot of hot water and new teabags. Restaurants I've gone to before don't do this. They charge you for another teabag. I was very impressed. Breakfast was good. I had 2 eggs over easy, crispy hash brown, bacon and rye toast. It wasn't the best restaurant breakfast I've had but it was good and filling. My niece had 2 eggs over easy, crispy hash brown and 2 slices of French Toast. The hash brown was supposed to be bacon, sausage or ham but it was one of the options presented to my niece. She ate every bite so I know she liked it. Our waitress allowed us to pay and stay a little longer, which was nice.
Restaurant needs refurbished. Bathrooms too were old, and smelled bad. Breakfast was nothing special. And over priced for eggs, bacon toast, cold and hash browns. Server was very good, friendly. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Business hours state it was suppose to be open at 8am, got there at 8:30am Valentine's Day to the lights off doors locked.
We went here last week, it’s not cheap, 2 breakfasts average £50 yes pounds not dollars ! We placed our order, I got my tea, 10 minutes later , still no coffee for my husband, had to ask, she then dropped the flask my leg soaked in hot coffee, no apology or attempt to offer cloth etc for my trousers, by now we are only people in the restaurant, another 5 minutes , more people arrive, 10 minutes later, the new arrivals have their breakfasts, it’s now 45 minutes, I went to speak to the manager, who was as much use as a chocolate teapot, he told me ours was coming, 5 minutes later , the waitress came to ask what we had ordered, she read out a totally different order ! We told her to cancel the food, the manager hid in the kitchen the whole time we paid $10 for the tea coffee as we left, all I can say is AVOID AT ALL COSTS !
I don’t know where to begin. We went at 4pm place was empty only us 5 adults 3 infants. Obviously people knew enough to not go there we remained only customers for the whole time which is unheard of in the Niagara Falls area. We ordered 2steak dinners at 32 a meal. They didn’t have a few of the meals we first chose to order. Both The steak was smaller than the palm of my hand and I had to spit out most of it as was too grissly to eat. We ordered macaroni and cheese for one child at 14.99 and it literally was a bowl of Kraft dinner (not exaggerating). The Burgers were ok. So for a bad meals we paid 238.00. The service was not great waited a fair amount of time given we were only customers. They failed to tell us they tacked on tip so I added tip when paying. So once I realized that I just tipped 54 dollars it was insult on insult. I demanded the extra tip back plus the falls tax. I don’t mind paying for a good meal but this was ridiculous. Live and learn from our mistake
