The Front Room - Newtown

We've been here twice in the last month. First on a Friday mid morning when it was very quiet. Food was good, service ok but a bit slow. Overall we liked it enough to go back yesterday for Saturday breakfast. Unfortunately it was a different experience. There were plenty of staff for the number of customers yet it felt frantic, disorganised and chaotic. Service was erratic although friendly enough. We had to chase our food after 45 minutes. It came out 10 minutes later. Husbands was cold, mine was missing items (including my poached eggs). Eggs then took another 10 minutes. On leaving the guy discounted our breakfast but no apology. I came out happy to pay for my breakfast, a discount won't make me go back. The reality is, the restaurant had Deliveroo and Foodora riders constantly at the counter to collect food. Totally get this is an important revenue stream to small businesses but when your dining-in customers are affected, the priorities are all wrong.

We are regulars here - the coffee is consistently good and the menu has a good variety of options for both adults and kids. The Front Room combines good portion sizes with great prices. The staff are always friendly and welcoming - bonus!

After 4 attempts to find a great long black not burnt in Enmore I have finally found it. Service was great staff was friendly and kind. Industrial feel. Packed so that was another good sign, it was recommended by the urban hotel staff as the best coffee after my failed attempts and it was true the best coffee. Definitely going back.

We sat in the back room at the Front Room for a weekday brunch. Friendly service, interesting menu and good sized portions. The menu has many options for gluten free, vegan, vegetarian meals and some raw food options such as the delicious rawnola.Free parking right outside but you must have a ticket. At the Newtown end of Enmore Road.

Generous serves of good food at amazingly cheap prices, hot, strong coffee, friendly service. This place is brilliant.
