I'm a Starbucks fan. So it's no surprise that I visit this place several times a week for as much coffee as is unhealthy for me. I also recommend the two sandwich slimbo range and this is not because of some diet silliness but because they taste quite good. The staff do make a darn good coffee here and the employees are a friendly team. It has only two downsides and they are common across many Starbucks they don't cl... View all feedback.
What motorcar1 doesn't like about Starbucks:
Another US chain, the coffee can be hit and miss. It was good here today. Had another coffee break later in Cafe Nero and much preferred it to Starbucks. Just a personal preference. View all feedback.
Absolutely shocked at Starbucks today, people coming in not wearing masks, staff not wearing mask correctly. No monitoring of numbers in store no tables being cleaned just piling up a queue against the wall with no space. No wonder our lockdown is extended if this is how they operate. Really angry and disappointed. When I asked staff member he shrugged and laughed so rude.
5 stars mostly because of the young man that works here who seems to be the manager, but his customer service is excellent and he's a credit to the whole company.
I visited Starbucks on January 17, 2020 and noticed that there were new staff members, as I had never seen them before despite being a regular customer. The staff was rude and unhelpful. I do not recommend this Starbucks, as there is a Costa in the nearby shopping center with much friendlier staff. However, the drinks were delicious.
I visited Starbucks in The Quays, Newry on the evening of Monday 23/12/19. There seemed to be four staff working and very few customers. I visited with my daughter and granddaughter as a pre Christmas coffee treat which we hoped would be the start of another of our Christmas traditions. It won’t be. From start to finish our visit was a complete disaster. I ordered 1 strawberry and cream Frapachino, 1 medium Americano, 1 ginger Latte, 2 cinnamon swirls and a cheese toastie. All came to just over £18. The cheese toastie was soggy, dripping with a grease like substance and inedible. The Americano became a large COLD coffee and 1 of the cinnamon swirls became a hard, cold inedible chocolate swirl. Everything was handed to me at the counter and my several requests for a tray were ignored as the young male counter server insisted on continuing to yell my order at me. I presume this was to intimidate me into carrying my order to my table immediately and without discussion. I also tried to complain about the mistakes in my order but again I was ignored by all staff. One female staff member did ask as she passed me if I had any problems. I replied that at least a tray would be nice but she also ignored me and walked behind the counter. We carried our order to a seating area beside the door. I actually had to clean my seat before I could sit. The floor around or table was filthy as was the table. The only edible/drinkable item on our order was my granddaughter’s frapachino. Everything else was left and we made a hasty retreat. My final opinion is that if Starbucks was giving everything out free we still wouldn’t return. It’s dirty, disgusting, and with extremely poorly trained staff. NEVER AGAIN.
