we went in and waited only a little long after my opinion, but the drinks, eating and personal were just great. our eating was delicious, loved the music and her birthday song for customers is at the point. that was my first time in a Puerto Rican restaurant and I would go back anytime. there was a lot of food we took after home. we had a pork and a seafood plate. unfortunately I forgot the plates presentation they w... What G CP doesn't like about De Rican Chef:
I used to really enjoy this restaurant, but since they have expanded to three locations, the quality and pricing have declined. I recently ordered $20 worth of chicharrones and received two small strips of meat, one dark and one light, which definitely did not justify the price. The portion size was unacceptably small, and I unfortunately ordered two orders. It's disappointing to see the decline in a place that used... View all feedback.
They don't deserve any stars but since I have to they get one. The food is taste ok but not compared to the location on Virginia Beach…. The manager or whoever was on charge was the rudest and most disrespectful person and made the worse experience I’ve ever had at restaurant in my life. She needs to work on customer service, her attitude was so bad…the good thing I can speak Spanish and English so I was listenin to the rumors after us complain about the food. We ordered 3 orders of chicharrón and ask to bring separate and it was ok , not like we expected only 2 pieces for order but the location on Virginia Beach the portion of chicharron are much better) then we order 2 more and they gave me 3 tiny pieces of chicharrón so I asked to the waitress if it was 1 or 2 orders and she say it’s 2 orders then “the manager “ came and say we selling the chicharrón by weight and is only 8 oz for order so so nothing what she was saying made sense) .. The waitress is doing her job very good!!!
Just ordered the pernil lunch special with arroz con gandules and maduros. The food had absolutely no seasoning. There was one hard as a rock piece of pork in the rice and no olives (i've never had puerto rican rice without olives). The rice was bland. The pernil needed seasoning... real bad. Where is the garlic? The cuero had this weird old taste so I didn't eat it. The maduros were pretty good. My gut toldme to pass on this place but I wanted to give them a try. It was only $10 for the lunch special. Unfortunately, I won't be back.
About a month ago my wife and I asked for coffee at the end of our meal. When they brought us the sugar, there was a roach inside which you could see through the glass container. I did not want to return after that experience but we were with friends that wanted to go today. Again the cleanliness was not where it should be. They gave me a dirty fork and there were lips on my cup. Needles to say I will not be returning back to this restaurant.
Great service, friendly staff and the food was amazing. It was our first time and we tried the mofongo con churrasco and omg it was delicious.Food: 5/5
I recently dined at a restaurant that serves delicious Puerto Rican cuisine. I ordered the pernil (roasted pork) with arroz con gandules (rice and pigeon peas), and it was fantastic. I also tried their new special appetizer, Papas Locos, which consisted of fresh fries topped with beef, pork, ham, and a special sauce. It was so delicious that I could have easily made a meal out of it. The staff at the restaurant were amazing, with one of them even sharing his homemade pepper sauce with us. They made sure our food was to our liking multiple times throughout our meal. The atmosphere was great, the staff were friendly, and the food was consistently delicious. I highly recommend giving this place a try.
