Envy Lounge - Newport Beach

This is an excellent venue. I do miss the live jazz music on Tuesdays, though.

We made a reservation for a table at 5:30 PM on a Friday, but when we arrived, the restaurant was closed. We checked their hours online and even called, only to hear on their voicemail that they open at 5 PM. We ended up going next door, where we learned that Envy often has inconsistent hours, so we decided to have dinner there instead. Later, around 7 PM, we checked back and found the restaurant finally open, so we ordered drinks and were seated since the place was nearly empty. While I would have rated this restaurant much higher due to the excellent venue and drinks, the fact that they weren’t open for our reservation is a significant drawback.

I had a great time at this restaurant! The bar area is really nice. I made my reservation through OpenTable, but it seems they no longer use that service. The music was enjoyable, and the crowd was quite diverse.

I specifically reserved a table and made it clear that I didn't want bottle service. I was confident they wouldn't reserve a table in the VIP lounge, so we wouldn't be pressured into buying a bottle. When we arrived, however, they insisted that my friends purchase a bottle of Grey Goose for $360! What I really dislike is their sneaky approach. I will never return!

I made a reservation through OpenTable, but the lounge called me to say that reservations made on OpenTable are not honored. They mentioned they have a vague relationship with OpenTable. To make matters worse, they told me I would have to pay $500 to secure the same table I had already reserved. This is a terrible business practice, and I am very disappointed.
