What Tosca Costantini doesn't like about Mokoji:
A good fun place for a family to eat at and definitely say its family friendly. Very friendly staff. Kids will have fun cooking there own food on a mini bbq and roasting a marshmallow at the end. View all feedback.
My partner and I just moved to Newington and after browsing the internet for restaurants; we decided to go to Mokoji for dinner. Their menu is small and simple yet very well-thought, which I personally think is great. Staff are warm and friendly. We tried a serving of smoked pork belly and also one of their BBQ packages (garlic butter prawns, halloumi, marinated chicken, cinnamon pineapple) which comes with a bowl of mixed salad and a bowl of pickled vegetables. Their dips (soy sauce and matcha salt) were great too. We had so much fun cooking our food, it was a lovely experience. They gave us a complementary bowl of their specialty tofu dish which was amazing! We also tried their homemade lemonade which was delicious too. There is a complementary huge marshmallow on a stick for you to enjoy after your meal too! Roasting the marshmallow and making a little mess while eating it (trying to fit a huge melted marshmallow in your mouth) is definitely a fun dessert experience, kinda brings you back to your childhood. We will definitely be back.
We visited Mokoji for my birthday last night. Firstly we were greeted by staff in a friendly manner and we opted to sit in the outside area. The menu was explained to us. They have a special that you can order if you order one of the "plates". So we ordered the mixed plated of prawns, chorizo, halloumi and chicken and got the special of rolled wagyu beef. We also ordered maple fries and smoked kim chi. For drinks we ordered Lemon Soju and hand made lemonade. Both were very refreshing and went well with the meal. Our side dishes and bbq were brought out quickly and before long the meat was on the BBQ. I always enjoy Korean BBQ, its fun to cook your food . The beef was lovely and so was the chicken , prawns, chorizo and haloumi. The maple fries are fantastic. We had a great meal and couldnt fit in the complimentary marshmallows! They gave me a bottle of wine for my birthday which was very kind.

We particularly enjoyed the Wagyu plate and the ox tongue.Well done to Mokoji for creating such an enjoyable venue in suburban Newington!
Average meal really, not that impressive. It didn't live up to expectations. Enjoyed the idea but the food was ordinary at best.
Love this place. My second time here. Casual but funky atmosphere. Excellent, helpful and friendly service. Thoroughly enjoyed the seafood BBQ for two. Well presented, good selection of fresh seafood with lovely condiments and good utensils for a fun night's cooking! We also lashed out and had a couple of entrees which were truly delish! Finished off with complimentary jumbo marshmallows to toast on BBQ. And the bill just over $50 each! Wow! Excellent value and def on my fave list of restaurants. Great job Mokoji! You've got the formula just right!!!
