What User doesn't like about Newcastle Panthers Bistro:
Reasonable meals at reasonable prices. Not restaurant quality, but it didn't appear that's the intended market. Steak was Ok and schnitzel also fine. If you're after simple value for money pub type food you will be happy enough here. View all feedback.

Another great venue on this trip.
We were attending a travel expo held at the Panthers Club and decided to have lunch downstairs at the club bistro. The bistro is neat and basically presented. The menu is typical of many club bistro offerings and the prices were very affordable. You join the queue to make and pay for your order and then wait for your meal to be ready and picked up from the counter or delivered by staff if they are available. Seating and tables are typical basic club furniture. Practical, serviceable and reasonably comfortable. The bar is nearby for those seeking to have an affordable beverage with their meal. The club décor is deplorable and shabby and what was a once proud premier club of Newcastle is in our view, a dive. Because of the large patronage on this day, bistro service was understandably slow. When they did arrive our meals were ample in size and presentation and of acceptable quality. With many excellent clubs, pubs and eateries to pick from in Newcastle, Panthers Newcastle is not likely to be on our future choice list.
We decided on this establishment as it had previously been recomended by friends. we wernt sorry. The meals were of generous size and very good quality.Again it was school holidays but the place can easily handle a couple of hundred diners as they seemed to the evening we were there, the food was excellent but the servings were way to much for us to handle, I prob sent half back to the kitchen, even though I had not eaten that day at all.The staff were excellent & the ambience though modern enough could do with a few changes. We also loved the poker machines and filled our pockets with with several hundred dollars..

We visited the bistro before a concert and arrived at 5.30. There were not many people there at that time, so we placed our order around 5.45. However, by 6.30 we still hadn't received our food. An announcement was made over the PA system stating that orders from the bistro would take over an hour to be served. It seemed that they were understaffed in the kitchen, leading to delays in food preparation. Although we eventually received our food in just under an hour, it did not meet our expectations. Additionally, the menu was much smaller than what was advertised on the club's website. We were also surprised by the high price of a small bottle of coke, which was $6.50. The club itself appeared run-down and several of the toilets were blocked. Overall, the club needs to improve its service and facilities in order to attract more customers in the future.
